Fresh from the Garden...

Posted by Stacey Lamothe on

We love to plant our tomatoes early and be the first on our block to get big juicy tomatoes from our garden. Here is Farmer Jack prepping the bed for planting.

We have a little help from a Peaceful Valley Farm item called “wall-o-water” http://www.groworganic.com/wall-o-water-3-pk.html  They are like little teepees that protect your plants from frost. The sun warms the water all day and keeps the plant warm through the night.

This year we had a bumper crop of tomatoes. Shown here are my sausage tomatoes which gave me grins throughout the season. Unfortunately all my tomatoes came much earlier than the basil, peppers & cucumbers…

Here is a cutest baby Armenian Cucumber. It reminds of Carmen Miranda :) We will have to get more Wall-O-Waters next year to start all of our favorite salad ingredients! Nonetheless we had great tomatoes and shared with many.

Stay tuned for my winter gardening blog...
